I have had a very interesting week so far. I had an individual who lives in Europe unload a truck full of grievances regarding the laws and politics of his country. Just keep in mind. What this person shared with me, President Obama and the liberals in Congress are actively pursuing. I had a waitress at one of my favorite restaurants lose her focus, and tell me how burned out she is, and I had an individual who works as a custodian for a local school tell me how not only are they cutting back, but how 4,000 people applied for one custodial position willing to take a job for $9 an hour, down from $40 an hour. These stories are extremely valuable, and will be valuable to those who can relate, once I put it all into perspective.
My friend from Europe is a guest in America temporarily. He has to go back to his home country soon. But every time I talk to him, I am fascinated by how smart he is, and how disenchanted he is with the way his government is runned. This is what happens when people actually think for themselves and put two-and two together. When people do not think, it works to the advantage and convenience of rulers who seek to control every aspect of the individuals under their authority. When it came to my friend from Europe, I thought it was interesting how he kept asking me questions and comparing and contrasting our system with the system of his country. Around Christmas, before he and my family went out to dinner, he made a comment about having the TV running while we were not home. We were about to leave the house for Christmas dinner, and just before we walked out the door he asked me, “you leave the TV on?” I said, “yeah.” He asked, “why?” I responded, “Because it keeps the dog company.” He said he couldn’t do something like that where he lives because energy costs are way too high. I then said to him, “Ahh… you must have cap and trade legislation in your country.” He didn’t understand what that meant, but later on, when I was doing my research, I found out that he does have cap and trade legislation in his country. That’s why energy costs are so expensive in his country. During this most recent visit, he also enlightened me with some insight about gas usage in his country. He told me how he has to pay a tax for however many gallons of gas he burns from using his car. Again, I went into research mode, looked up his country, and he has a carbon tax. Why do I share this with you? Because Obama and the Democrats want to simply apply the system in Europe to America. There is nothing smart, intelligent, or “progressive” in the strict literal meaning of the word about it. It is simply applying to Americans what Europeans are trapped within their own countries. In this individual’s country, the “ruling class” controls the people’s levels of consumption by making it such an uphill battle to be able to have the advantages, resources, and leisure that the ruling class possesses and takes advantage of. Liberals in America envy what Europe has. We have been psychologically conditioned to admire European ways of doing things so that we will be more welcoming towards the European way of doing things. In that, the more we embrace European culture, their existing remnants from the “age of enlightenment,” and their passive attitudes towards government, then we will be more and more inclined to embrace their politics, and that is what our control-freak politicians are so desperately hoping for. In order to get what they need, they need to adjust your surroundings, encourage you to behave a certain way, and become responsive to anything that the government dictates. In other words, they want to take away your freedoms through the back door, when you are most unsuspecting, and get you psychologically conditioned to think it’s all a good thing.
The Waitress Story:
Why did I share the waitress’s story in the first paragraph of this article? The waitress story actually came Tuesday night (6/8/10). The waitress came to my friend and I’s table, and she had a “brain freeze” for a moment. She had to stop and think for a second which plate belonged to which person, and which side went with each dish. I very nicely told the lady that the spaghetti was my friends and the barbeque beef was mine. For a moment, she lost her focus. She then told me that she has been working longer hours (sometimes 8, 10, and even 12 hour shifts), and that one day a waitress followed her home because she was so out of it. She was so stressed out because the restaurant was not doing as good of business with this economy that they are stretching the help they already have to the bare bones. She told me that even though she likes to make extra money sometimes, her body is not responding well to the stress. If she is going home at 4 in the morning after working 12 hours, she should be very careful because I’ve noticed here in Illinois, there are more and more Cops out looking for slip ups. She might work herself into oblivion and make a mistake that could end up profiting the state at her expense. So why do I share this story with you? For one, I can relate because they place I work at is stretching its help very thin, but that is not why I’m sharing this with you. The reason I am sharing this with you is because whenever taxes are raised on businesses, energy, resources, etc. people have less and less money to spend. And the less money people spend, the more layoffs occur as a direct result. And the more people get laid off, the more the existing payroll is stretched thin, and the more payroll is stretched thin, the more stress rests on the shoulders of those who know what they’re doing. And the more stress that rests on the shoulders of those who know what they’re doing and work with the public, the bitterer towards the public they become.
The Custodian Story:
The custodian I mentioned in the first paragraph works for a local school district. He recently shared with me how, “the angel of economic death,” (my description), is looming over his job. Recently, they laid off some custodians at his work due to big budget cuts. When they fired a couple of custodians for “goofing off,” they ended up posting an opening, an opening that if I heard correctly, 4,000 people applied for. According to this custodian, some people, who were once making $40 an hour, were applying for a job starting out at around $9 an hour. Talk about a pay cut! These people applying are so desperate that they are willing to make pennies to keep up with their hard bills.
… and that’s not all that’s going on either. I read recently how homeless people are moving into storage units, and all sorts of bizarre things. And for what? Liberal Democrat politicians are practically in control of everything, and they keep raising taxes, and causing job suppliers (businesses) to either go out of business at worse, cut back dramatically at best, and do what it takes (by cutting corners) to try and survive. And for what? So that these people’s lobby groups (aka the source of these politicians’ campaign war chests) can remain fully funded, and to work to, in their minds anyway, keep their power status secured. Meanwhile, people like you and me are caught in the crosshairs. People like you and me are always caught in the crosshairs. We are the ones who always have to settle for less when political leaders driven by selfish ambitions are in power. While we have to break our butts to make ends meet, the powers that be are wasting the fruits of our labor to do things like Protect an insect collection from other insects, and do insane things like what is posted within the link below.

We have to endure these things, because those who we trust to be responsible for our lives will not. We are the ones who will continue to have to live the way we’re living to pay back Democrat lobby groups, funnel more money into their corrupt personal interests before they retire or are booted out from office, and continue to buy votes by funneling money to those who are dependent on the government for a free hand out. And what’s worse is that these are the very people who whined and cried for decades about helping the poor, helpless, and oppressed, when in actuality all they know how to do when they have absolute power is make people poor, helpless, and oppressed (to taxes, debt interest which causes inflation which raises prices dramatically, ridiculous mandates and regulations, and so on). This is about power and control, not solving problems and proper governance. And yet, how do you tell someone who is warped into thinking that the only way to keep in power is to empower administrative alliances and work for them at the expense of the people, that the best way to keep in power is to work towards the benefit and welfare of the people, and if you do a good job, and put those people first, they will reward you by giving you their vote so long as you keep their interests firsts at your expense, rather than put your interests first at their expense? You don’t. Their minds are warped, and most of them can't be reasoned with because of it. You get them out of office and never trust the likes of these warped minded politicians again.
