This is probably one of the most interesting senate races in a long time. The race to fill the late Ted Kennedy’s senate seat is in full swing, and the race couldn’t be any closer. What’s even more ironic, is that a blue, liberal and socially engineered state like Massachusetts is actually considering electing a Conservative Republican candidate.
Willfully Ignorant or Just Plain Ignorant?
The state of Massachusetts has been for a very long time deep blue, meaning that it is by default, a state that goes to the Democrats in every election cycle. But this goes to say something about the people. Were the people of Massachusetts just ignorant, or willfully ignorant of what they voted for, for so many years? After all, it was the people of Massachusetts who elected John Kerry and Ted Kennedy to serve as their senators. And yet, if things didn’t go in favor of the Democrats they elected, the Democrats would always do what they always do if things don’t going their way, and that is blame the Republicans, if Republicans were in fact in power. But there are no Republicans to pin the blame on (since there aren’t enough Republicans to make any difference) at all, and with Democrats virtually in control of everything everywhere, perhaps the people of Massachusetts (where Democrats are literally in control of everything at the local levels) may be seeing something that they’ve never seen before in the representatives they have elected for so many decades. Perhaps now, they have woken up to the true intentions of the Democrats. Of course, the legislation calling itself “health care” legislation has enraged both domestic Republicans and many domestic Democrats, and in a heavily Democrat state, when you lose your own base, you are likely to feel a revolt.
Many people have become wise as to what this so-called “health care legislation” actually is. It is nothing more than a system that screws over everyone from multiple angles, while providing many lucrative incentives to the politicians promoting it. On one end, it works to eliminate (through bureaucratic “red tape”) people who have paid into the system for years so that they pay into the system, but do not have the chance to be users of the system for the rest of their lives. Then we younger people who pay into the system now would not be able to collect if we have health problems because by the time we would be eligible to use the system, we might be dead thanks to rationing. Let me say that again, but in a different way. We would be paying into a system all our lives that many of us would not be able to benefit from, because our sickness might have actually killed us by the time we were appointed for examination and/or treatment. In essence, it is the largest, most evil money laundering scheme in the history of this nation.
The battle in Massachusetts is between Scott Brown (Republican) and Martha Coakley (Democrat). If Brown wins, then Obama will lose his 60 proof majority in the Senate. It will then be ironic that something that Ted Kennedy has so lusted after for so long could be defeated by his own senate seat. If Brown wins, that doesn’t mean that the Republicans will be in the majority. The Democrats will remain in the majority; it’s just that they won’t have the 60 proof majority to force all of what they want for themselves down our throats.
It is an interesting development, and we will be watching.
