Liam Neeson returns as former U.S. spy Bryan Mills in this sequel to the hit 2009 film “Taken”. In this film, Mills and his wife are kidnapped and taken hostage by some bad guys Mills nabbed in the first film in his pursuit to rescue his daughter from human traffickers. This kidnapping is seen by them as their opportunity to get revenge. That said, the biggest hope for Mills and his wife is both his instincts and his daughter, who, by his instruction has to be led precisely to the area they are held if they are going to be free again. This movie was pretty good, but in my opinion, it was not as good as the first one. We have seen storylines like these before where the villain (being a family member, or the same villain freed in some way) is out for revenge against the hero of the original film. Yet some of the scenes that stood out for me were the really cool car chase, and the “moment of decision” that Mills leaves his chief captive at the end of the film. Out of 4 starts, I give Taken 2 2 and a half. The film is rated PG-13 and runs 1 hour and 32 minutes.
