Editor’s note: The actual anniversary date for the beginning of this Message Board is June 1st, 2004, yet due to certain circumstances, other priorities, and writing multiple drafts for our 6th year anniversary, I decided to shelve its release until now. And so, I want to bring you in to share in the celebration as my well appreciated readers.
In looking back at the conception of this board to the point we are at this moment, it is amazing how far we’ve come together. Of course, if Todd Fuller from Sitcomsonline.com hadn’t shut down the politics section of the Chit Chat forum on his site back in 2004 (during an election year), I probably never would have otherwise had the urge to frantically scramble around and find a way to get my information out to people. I remember the situation all too well. Yet, it showed in many ways the truth in that when God closes a door, he will open another. That shut down prompted me to find another way, and then from there grow it, and promote it. The year after I started this board, I went to broadcasting school, so when I interned for a talk radio program called “Open Road Radio” on WCKG in Chicago, they taught me how to skillfully conduct e-mail blasts, and energized my promotional abilities. But as for Todd Fuller and Sitcomsonline.com, I never left them. In fact, some of you may not know this (cause I never said this before), but Todd Fuller re-opened the politics section on his website again later on, and from time to time, I still go on there and share. In fact for Sitcoms, I like to share regarding what I know behind many classic TV shows, so I still go on there and do that. I am thankful for both that website (it is the greatest site for everything sitcoms that I’ve ever known), and in looking at the bigger picture, Todd’s temporary (although I never expected him to re-open it) shutdown forced me to get out there.
This year, since we’ve had so many new people join us, I am going to explain some of the mechanics behind some of the things I do here in hopes that you may understand them before rushing to judgment. And in doing this, I am going to start by explaining the nature of politics and why I choose to be what I am politically.
Politics:
Politics is no doubt a blood sport. It is where two belief systems fight am ideological war, a war between self-interest and the interests of everyone, a war between truth and a series of manufactured images that people trust to believe are true because of the loyalties they hold to a certain political party and the power of its brand. Both major political parties are not perfect by any means, yet one fundamental belief I have is in individual liberty. The American Constitution is a unique document, and its concept is still (when you factor in all of the empires and governments of the world) in its infancy. The Constitution is a foundational document which protects any individual of any race, creed, gender, and history to speak their mind, practice their religion or articulate their faith the way they see fit, and work to establish their own economic future. The opposite of this goes around the Constitution, and goes in through the back way to convince people to support the growth of Government, and as such, create burdens that will hinder and take away from the environment which the Constitution guarantees. Just as the Constitution calls for representative Government, the flip side carries representatives in Government that turns the system upside down, and tries to make the people accountable to the government.
Faith:
Within the past year, God has done very miraculous things, really opened my eyes and revealed so many more truths regarding him, understanding human nature even further, and equipping me with the discernment and strength to properly identify and handle matters when Satan’s influence breaks through the consciousness and evil thoughts and strong feelings of discouragement enter through, that it has not only sustained me, but has also kept me more balanced than I wouldn’t have been without The Holy Spirit’s help. When God reveals new insights to me, it incites joy in my soul even to the point to where it changes my moods. The more I trust him with my life, the more he comes through for me. And yet, whenever he gives me insight on something, reveals a truth to me, or gives me strength to endure something, I like to share it with those who visit my website, and that is the essence of the faith section at this board. As Jesus said, “Freely you have received, freely give.” (Matthew 10:8b).
Entertainment:
Everyone who knows me personally knows how much I love movies, TV shows, and radio. Lately however, there have been too many “slim pickin’s,” so I have been very selective in what movies I choose to see, and what TV shows I watch. In fact lately, when I watch television, I end up watching classic TV shows to sort of escape the mediocre writing, horrible acting, and illogical storylines of movies and TV shows today. I guess I’m always looking for entertainment with some quality and brains behind it, and so if or when I find some, I like to discuss it on this board.
Psychology:
Within the past year, I have discovered more and more how psychology is not only just a study of the human organ of the brain, but how it is a study of the soul. Many materialistic scientists do not like to acknowledge that psychology is actually, in its root form, the study of the soul, and that not all problems are treatable if it is only confined to the understanding of an academic analysis or a prescription drug (as is the case in modern psychiatry). In fact, I have found personally that when I factor in the soul in my problem solving, I am able to, with God’s help, analyze a problem, and start fixing them.
Health:
If there is something I find noteworthy and valuable regarding a person’s health and well-being, I like to share it with others. Moreover, if I can try a remedy, and it works, I like to share it to help people save money.
Useful Information:
There are a lot of things out there that people should know, but don’t. For example, if you are a pet owner and you like to feed your dog table scraps, there are some food that are highly toxic to dogs that should be addressed. The Useful Information section is a section designed to raise awareness and in some cases caution so that they may not fall into a trap. We also provide tips on how to save money, shed light on scams and how to avoid them, and provide something that will prove useful at some point in your life.
In essence, damage is inflicted on those who lack the necessary knowledge before walking in to certain situations. I believe that knowledge is vital to freedom, is supplied and directed by God, and establishes understanding that is beneficial to a person’s life and well-being. Yet if knowledge via information proves profitable in some way to an individual, then it will certainly prove itself profitable to a group of individuals, and then to the community, and then hopefully to society, and so on and so on.
Freedom is based on seeking, learning, and knowing the natures of what surrounds you, and choosing what best fits your moral, ethical, spiritual, financial, and/or cultural nature. Slavery is built on ignorance, and is maintained in many instances (in this country anyway) by willful ignorance based on certain established loyalties and biases. It is easy to slip into it by not thinking outside the box, and it is very slick, because many who have fallen victim to it have not the slightest awareness of what what they are truly getting themselves into.
My goal is to at least try and change that for the purpose of your well-being as well as mine.
