This is an interesting article. I actually expected Avatar to carry the night when it came to Oscars because it carried within it a message of New Age Spiritism and make America look like an occupier for resources.

Patriotism Stuns Anti-Americanism at OscarsBy Redhanded Los Angeles : CA : USA

Hollywood & Anti-Americanism suffered a huge set-back last night at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards. Avatar, the James CameronJames Cameron mega billion blockbuster film, was predicted by many to sweep the Oscars but as it turned out, it was the small budget film, Hurt Locker that triumphed and took home 6 Oscars including the Best Film.
Avatar, in my opinion, was one of the most Left-Wing political vehicles to come along in awhile. The movie who’s central theme centered around Anti-Americanism, Global dominance and economic prowess, fell short of it’s expectations to win for Best Film. Disguised in all the wonderful special effects and cinematography were all the political undertones of dissatisfaction with the War in Iraq & the overall war on Terror.
Cameron describes the parallels in this manner in his interview with The Times:
“We went down a path that cost several hundreds of thousands of Iraqi lives. I don’t think the American people even know why it was done. So it’s all about opening your eyes.”
“We know what it feels like to launch the missiles. We don’t know what it feels like for them to land on our home soil, not in America. I think there’s a moral responsibility to understand that.”
In contrast to this Anti-American point of view, the movie Hurt Locker puts a face to the heroism and bravery that our American Troops must endure out in the battlefield against the enemy. The movie pays tribute in part to the troops fighting in Iraq at a time when Liberal Hollywood has found it more acceptable to produce and make anti-war movies. The movie had an $11 million dollar budget compared to the over $400 million Avatar had at its disposal. The movie Hurt Locker also provided the opportunity for female Director Kathryn BigelowKathryn Bigelow to become the first woman ever to win the Best Director award.
The patriotic film did a great job portraying and getting out a positive message about what our troop’s mission in Iraq is all about. In an industry where Conservatism is practically shut out, it is great to see a film that finally has captured the courage and bravery that our men & women put on display everyday but is taken for granted by many.

For the past few years, I completely lost interest in the Oscars because I have been too tired of the Academy of Arts and Sciences using the Oscar awards as a tool to actively promote left-wing political activist films. And if they had a top-grossing Christian themed movie, the Academy would brush it aside and pay little to no mind to it at all, while the studios would rake in tremendous amounts of money at the box office.
... Interesting.
