In my opinion, 2009 was the worst year in movies that I have ever experienced in my lifetime! I’m not saying that every movie released in 2009 was bad, but there weren’t that many that were worth seeing. Now, at the time of this writing (February 14, 2010) I can say that I haven’t been to the movie theaters ONCE this year!!! Does that mean that 2010 will be worse than 2009 when it comes to movies? I mean one year ago, Gran Turino with Clint Eastwood and Taken with Liam Neeson were the big blockbusters dominating the box office.
Now, there are some movies that I want to see this year, which are….
Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland in 3-D (Due out March 5th) Oceans (Sequel to the nature Documentary “Earth”, Due out April 22nd) Iron Man 2 (Due out May 7th) Shrek 4 (Due out May 21st) Toy Story 3 (Due out June 18th) The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader (Due out December 10th)
Movies that are in the “maybe pile” include “Clash of the Titans” (Due out April 2nd), and “The Green Hornet” (due out December 22nd). There may be others that will come out that I may see, but the ones mentioned above are on my “priorities” list. But if you really look at the list, there aren’t really even 10 movies that I can list that are worth spending money for in 2010. Could 2010 be worse than 2009? At least in 2009, I did go to the movies more than 10 times.
I guess we’ll just wait and see.
