The remarkable Liam Neeson is back, and he’s “takin” no crap in the thriller “Taken” which opened January 30th, 2009. Taken is about a former U.S. spy whose 17 year old daughter is kidnapped in Paris and sold into a highly protected human trafficking ring for forced prostitution. Leeson’s character, Bryan Mills takes it upon himself to look for his daughter using the skills he once acquired when he worked as a spy for the U.S. Government…. It’s just that this time, it’s personal. As he is not protected by diplomatic immunity by being a U.S. Government official anymore, he does what he can to try and find her, and try to do what he can to bring the perpetrators to Justice, even if that means taking the matter entirely in his own hands. I thought this movie was very well thought out, smart, and realistic. Too much in the movies today are there far out and hoaky storylines. Taken has neither. The action is great, the suspense makes the time go by extremely fast, and the nature of the characters make you wonder what is going to happen next. On a scale from 1-5, I give this film a 5. The film runs 93 minutes and is rated PG-13. www.takenmovie.com/
