Editor’s Note: As the year 2013 winds down, we thought we would take another look at some of the hit movies that has defined the year.
Robert Downey Jr. returns once again as mega industrialist turned superhero Tony Stark in the highly anticipated, third installment of the blockbuster Iron Man film series.
Story:
A villain, known as The Mandarin, begins initiating terrorist attacks around the globe. When one of those attacks badly injures Stark’s friend and Chief of Security for his Enterprise, Stark ends up threatening the Mandarin in front of the world. And so, while Stark is at home with Pepper (Gwyneth Paltrow), unaware of what is to come, the Mandarin arranges for several armed helicopters to approach Stark’s house, shooting missiles at it, completely destroying it, sending the remains into the ocean.
Surviving the attack, Stark’s capabilities to do anything are severely limited, causing him to be at a tremendous disadvantage to the determined, and even more emboldened Mandarin. While severely limited of his capabilities, he encounters a tech- savvy boy named Harley, who is creative himself, and invents things out of what he has. From there, Stark uses his creativity, instincts, and skills not only to survive, but to rebuild, and piece together many details under the radar regarding the Mandarin with Harley’s tools and gadgets. Meanwhile, a host of situations begin to materialize, as well as many mysteries discovered as the Mandarin is not exactly what he appears to be, and this leads the film to take a very interesting direction. Needless to say, if you haven’t seen this movie over the past summer, and you like Iron Man, then you will like this one.
Iron Man 3 has set all sorts of records, including records in DVD/Blu-ray rentals.
Iron Man 3 is rated PG-13 and runs 2 hours and 10 minutes.
