It is amazing what people won’t do to make a buck now–a-days. All too often, too many people exploit many other people’s lack of knowledge for monetary gain. What’s worse is if you are on the receiving end of that especially if you buy something that you are entitled to for free. In this case, it is credit reports. You are entitled to one free credit report (with no strings attached), a year.
If you watch any TV, I’m sure you have noticed the freecreditreport.com commercials. These commercials are very comical, entertaining, and the songs that are sung in them are, in my opinion anyway, catchy. Of course, if you actually go to the website they are advertising in those commercial ads, and you are sincerely after your free credit report, then you will find that you have to start a membership with freecreditreport, submit your credit card information, and get charged for it.. YOU DON’T HAVE TO. Also, if you do not remember to cancel your membership, your credit card will continue to be billed monthly. This strategy has been cleverly crafted and has made the site a lot of money.
So how do you in fact get your free credit report?
Well, according to the Federal Trade Commission, there is only one website that is authorized and backed by the Federal Government to provide you that information. The site that explains the law that entitles you to a completely free credit report with no strings attached is located at the Federal Government’s Federal Trade Commission website.
You can go there by clicking on the link below.
www.ftc.gov/freereports
The only authorized website that will faithfully bring you your full credit report is…
www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/requestForm?from=landing
All other avenues are rip-offs and are simply a very clever scheme to practically get you to hire a “middle man” to retrieve for you what you already have coming to you for free. So don’t be fooled, folks. If you want your free credit report, you need to look no further than the information provided for you today.
